Paul Smith has unveiled his spring/summer 2022 collection, which is inspired by outdoor activities, optimism, and a connection to nature.

Warm orange tones blend to sky blues and midnight blacks in an organic color palette that evolves from morning to twilight. In a series of picture prints, the four elements of earth, wind, water, and fire are depicted. The photo prints depict a stunning amalgamation of natural textures with bold color washes

The digital presentation opens with unique show music composed by Pierre Rousseau, a Parisian composer, and producer. It begins as ambient music, then speeds up with a leisurely cadence before shifting into odd rhythms. Models move through space with a mostly yellow floor with spot-like patterns, curved and circular walls, and a wave sculpture on the ceiling.

Storm cuffs have been incorporated and improved, with a complex design inspired by boat sails, including a zigzag stitch pattern. Paul Smith’s tailoring background, which is a recurring motif throughout the collection, is enhanced by check materials.

A yellow and black-bordered flap hat, an orange sunflower printed on a yellow sweater, a khaki-colored purse, green cargo trousers, and orange sneakers are among the collection’s highlights. A vibrant orange suit, multicolored strap bag, blue and red striped t-shirt, and orange and black sneakers are other highlights.

Footwear is designed for both land and water excursions, with Gore-Tex trainers for land explorations and deck shoes with suede uppers for sea trips.

Fabrics were chosen for their lightness and mobility since there is an overall theme of lightness. Season stripes on shirts, knitwear, and a capsule line of nylon bags from Japanese luggage expert Porter were inspired by photographs of antique tent materials.
